It’s that time again. We are getting ready to leave the French Alps and we are going to miss it so much! It’s been amazing.
This will probably be my last post from France. There’s a few things we need to do over the next few days before we leave for Morocco. We are able to store our bikes until we get back next summer so that is super. It’s time to do some clean up in the apartment. I am obsessed with making sure things are clean whenever I leave a rented apartment. It’s just how I am. I think it’s an Asian thing or a habit my mom instilled in me, like cleaning my bedroom.
We’ve been doing some short tempo runs in Les Houches and it’s really fun. I like sweating a lot when working out and it’s been so cold lately that I have to really work harder to get sweaty, hence a tempo run. The other cool thing is, since we are in a valley the first thing on a hike or run is climbing. Generally, you can get 1000m (3300 ft) in 3-4 miles then same going down so about 9-10mi round trip easily. The climbs are quite steep here and rocky or rooted. Great workout!
We are at 3400 ft elevation here in Les Houches. Imlil, Morocco will be at 1740 m or 5710 ft which will be great altitude training. If all goes well, we may stay there a while, if not we explore other areas. Not sure what to expect yet so we’ll see!
We’ve got a race towards the end of November in Morocco and it’s should be fun. It’s located in a resort area and we’ll be living in Igloo tents. Again, not sure what to expect but it sounds great.
It’s really hard to leave Chamonix valley but the cold temps is motivating. It’s been getting colder and colder everyday. I wouldn’t mind seeing first snow before we leave. Last year, we were fortunate to see snow in Chamonix. It’s magical.
Thanks for following and reading. I am not sure what the speed is of WIFI in Imlil but as soon as I get good connection, for sure I’ll post something.
On to the next adventure!
